Yan

Yan was composed for the renowned Swedish percussion group Kroumata. Someone comissioned the piece, possibly the organisation Swedish National Concerts but I can not be sure. If I ever wrote a program note for the piece it is long gone. In any case my program notes at this point of time was surely not very rewarding to read. The piece was however a certain success at the time and was rewarded first prize in Bourges Festival the same year along with Kren. It is again a DBX encoded recording so I only (for now) give a short excerpt from the beginning of the piece. The piece was dedicated to my professor of musicology whom I had very much to thank for. His name was Jan Ling.
